Garden Travel- RHS Garden Harlow Carr November 7th, 2016

Last May we started our English Garden tour in the city of Harrogate in Yorkshire.
Royal Horticultural Society Garden Harlow Carr–  a 68 acre garden set in a valley in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. On the grounds of an ancient royal hunting lodge and spa,  the gardens has a wide variety of growing landscapes, from the foliage and texture of the Winter walk to the clusters of spring blooming bulbs; from running and still https://www.cialissansordonnancefr24.com/ water gardens to woodland and wildflower meadows as well as a vast forest like Arboretum. The garden has an open feel – seen as a tapestry of colors and textures. The gardens have interests as an overview as well as up close.

Bulbs mainly in pots although this was one of the few gardens in England that still had the bulbs blooming inground.

The woodland garden

is full of Rhododendrons and Azaleas coming out in bloom.  Bulbs and Rhododendrons are the typical color in English gardens this time of year since most perennials are just coming out of dormancy. 
In honor of this year being the Queens 90^th Birthday each garden throughout the country had some tribute to her. Here they planted 90 red maples to create a forest as an ever present commemoration to her life.

Yorkshire has hundreds of gardens to visit

– Even boasting a Garden Trail map associated with historic homes and estates some permanently open some only open for Open Days events. One could probably spend just a 1-2 weeks  just visiting the gardens and open space in this area.
